Bookbag's first poetry night of the year is a nod to Burns Night.
Burns Night is annually celebrated in Scotland on or around January 25. It commemorates the life of the bard (poet) Robert Burns, born on January 25, 1759. The day celebrates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture, and began when friends of Burns, five years after the poets death, began a poetry night to celebrate his life.
It's cold and miserable out there. Come along for warm vibes and the social, hearing local poets work and sharing some poetry of your own. Spaces are £2 on the door and can be booked on Eventbrite.
