Wed 21 June / Poetry with Jenny Mitchell

Jenny Mitchell is an award-winning poet and workshop facilitator. Her first collection was joint winner of the Geoff Stephens Poetry Prize, and her second collection, Map of a Plantation, is winner of the Poetry Book Awards, as well as being on the syllabus at Manchester Metropolitan University. She recently won the Gregory O'Donoghue Prize, and has also won the Bedford Prize, the Ware Prize, the Folklore Prize and a Bread and Roses Award, along with several other competitions.

Her latest collection, Resurrection of a Black Man, contains three prize-winning poems and will be featured on the US Podcast, Poetry Unbound. She will also be performing her work at the Houses of Parliament as part of a Windrush Anniversary celebration. 

At Bookbag on June 21st, 6.30-7.30 pm, Jenny will be reading from all three of her collections, and taking part in a Q&A with Kelechi Anucha.
