We're joining our friends at Alibi to deliver two poetry sessions for young people with our inhouse poet Sirisha Damarla.
Alibi are an arts organisation who create playful, safe and inclusive spaces where children can explore their creativity and discover themselves and the world in imaginative ways. They are situated at Emmanuel Hall in St Thomas - you can read more about Alibi and Storybox here
Writing Poetry Workshop with Sirisha Damarla
Poet Sirisha Damarla, host of Bookbag’s Open Mic Night, leads a creative session for emerging young poets and anyone curious about poetry or creative writing.
The workshop will explore what makes a poem work, with tips and prompts to help you develop your own writing. Those who already write are welcome to bring along their poems.
By the end of the session, everyone will have created a poem and had the opportunity to share it with the group.
Grown ups, this is a drop-off workshop so you’re welcome to relax in our café with a coffee, or step out and return at the end of the workshop.
