Sophie Pierce and Matt Newbury share their passion for exploring the coast and countryside of Devon and beyond, both on foot and in the water. Their latest book, Wild Swimming Walks: Dorset and East Devon, contains 28 walks with swims in the countryside and coast east of Exeter, including Topsham, Ottery St Mary, Ladram Bay, Beer, and Salcombe Regis. They’ll chat about how they came to write the books, and the many escapades – not to mention mishaps – they had along the way, and invite you to join them to share stories and tips.. Sophie and Matt are firm believers in taking a dip wherever water presents itself, and after the event, they invite you to join them for a swim in the river at Exe Bridges, just a short walk from Bookbag.

Please note that if swimming each participant takes part at their own risk, and is strongly advised to wear a brightly coloured swim cap and/or use a tow float for visibility.
